This is expected to happen sometimes, especially when testing new ROM's, don't worry. It's happened to me before and probably everyone else. You did the right thing by taking the battery out. It's pretty hard to brick the Hero, unless you try to update/change the raido -- otherwise, keep playing...

The error is usually associated with Data Provision (Sprint's data services basically) -- in which, you would just have to reset the Data settings on your phone, reboot and it should fix itself, but glad to see things are working.

Gbhil - thanks for tutorials, this will really help a lot of us out! By the way, since Linux Mint in built on Ubuntu, I would presume the said instructions (commands) in the first post and such should work, right? As always, your HOW-TO's are very much appreciated and benefit us all. Thanks again!

By current settings, what do you mean? Also, you don't need SetCPU -- Gbhil built into this ROM a aggressive memory/process killer and setup the phone to "On Demand" settings by default.

Not I. Try it anyway, what's the worst that could happen right? It's a VM.:rolleyes: I personally like dual booting -- it forces me to learn Linux and so far, I've primarily booted into Linux 95% of the time since setting it up this way.

I don't know where you got your information, but the Hero is not laggy -- at least not for me. Again, Gbhil's ROM does a damn good job making sure the phone runs smooth. He has implemented an aggressive process killer, the Kernal he implemented is also one of the most used, and I have yet to see...
