I've tried a couple times to sideload, but I keep getting an error in adb that it can't read the file when I try to send it. You should be able to download the zip file straight to your phone and install it that way without using a pc

I am on Verizon with unlimited too without tethering. I use the phone's built in Hotspot and it works fine. It doesn't check with Verizon for permissions. I have a Nexus 6P. Was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked
