Does the 8+ not have the setting to calibrate screen!

If you keep Alot of stuff on clipboard it will lag. Press and hold down like your going to copy and paste when clipboard pops up click it and delete all the stuff in there hell you phone will run better to. Sounds stupid but it works.

Not sure what phone your phone your on But on S7Edge it's been a good update so far. Battery is better and over all a better os I don't like the favorites either but I have the edge program that give me direct dial so not a biggie and the font is small on notifications but I'm getting older so...

Go to application clear media server cache and clear the data for that app and it will clear up. I had this happen before and it cleared right up. It's trying to scan a corrupt file usally usally a pic in the gallery and it's stuck on it so it draws battery
