This is a known issue with all Galaxy S phones. I assume it is software related and can be fixed with an update. I come here everyday hoping to see a fix posted. It's one of those issues that some may dismiss as nominal, but to people who use this feature frequently it's a big step back not to have it.

I have the same issue, it's a known entity with this phone (all Galaxy S phones I believe). It's the only line of the newer Android phones that does not allow this feature (afaik). There is less then 2 weeks left on my 30 day return period. If there is no fix by that time, the Epic goes back...

As a follow up I got mine today (could of gotten it yesterday). As mentioned above, I received no email or any type of alert that my phone had shipped. Apparently there was a lack of communication between BB, BB reps, Samsung and the distribution company that handled the mailings/shipments.
