Anyone else get a new update this past week? I got it last night but of course, am unable to find any details from Asus on what changes it included. It isn't a Kit Kat update (unfortunately) but it may be an updated geared towards readying the tablets for KK.

There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. I bought three of these at the same time. One updated right away and the other two wouldn't update right away. A second one finally got the update today (four days later) and the other is still waiting. So it's just a waiting game I'm afraid.

If all you did was root it you should just be able to do a factory data reset. That's if ALL you did was just root it. If you flashed it with a custom ROM and didn't make a backup of the stock. You may be screwed. If you did the latter you could check XDA forums as many of those people will post...

You would be correct too. Most of the stealing is done by those working the sorting lines and who are usually temps. Most of the full timers who have been around a while do not do this and will report it when they see it.
