He managed to get it into the boot menu. He thinks by pressing the power and down button.

I'm not sure, but you can probably find something online. It was so frustrating. I hope you get it working again.

It took him a lot of finagling to get it to connect. He spent a couple hours fussing with it.

He connected the phone to the computer, downloaded Minimal ADB & Fastboot on the computer, and reset it through that program. Good luck!
