Mine is too, I had to set at the highest setting and so I checked and it was at like 4, so I reset it again and within a couple of minutes it went back to 4 and brightness. Yes I recently updated a couple days ago.

I now remember you guys are right. The duplication of speech to text was from updating my Google. I keep forgetting that when I get a alert to update Google sometimes I do. I will not update Google Chrome, until I read somewhere Google Chrome fix their problem with her software browser.
