If you're using a Verizon phone, the LTE is on a different band, and their bootloader is locked. There is currently no way to get LTE, but you will get HSPA+, which I understand is quite comparable in speed.

Verizon phones come unlocked, as long as you aren't and never have been under contract. Otherwise, you'll have to purchase an unlock code. You can get a free sim card from CC, or buy one from Sears or Target and get reimbursed. The only thing I haven't got working is the Hotspot. MMS works...

I allowed the update, and upon reboot, it still needed a system update. When I rebooted again, I was at MB1! It doesn't fail with stock root & stock recovery.
