There is a solution for this problem. It was originally posted on Droid Forums by user jbattershell. It is a workaround for ICS devices, and I've even gotten it to work through Terminal Emulator on my Droid 4 but with my wife's Razr it only works through ADB. Here is a link to the discussion...

Hi, I'm fairly new to this forum. I've read many forums and have taken much advice from previous members. Currently I have a Droid 2 Global, stock 2.3.3 rooted with RadioComm hack (gotta have my tethering), as well as a Motorola Xoom. Glad to be part of this forum!
