I just flashed an 8.1 ROM to my Nexus 5. It previously would hold at 100%, but now it does this while on the charger.

I know someone who works at Wilson Electronics (weBoost) who knows boosters and antennas. His recommendation was that antennas are tuned to specific bands, and foreign bands don't match up.

That's exactly what I'm pointing out. The original 2.0 OTA was a carrier push, which is why you are only getting it now. The newest one was not through carrier, so now all the people who never got it before are finally getting it.

You got Aug 1st patch, which was a re-push not through carrier. The original OTA to 2.0 was back in July.

I forget what my source is (sorry), but the 2.0 OTA was apparently a "carrier" update, which explains the holdup. Seems the updates after that with the Aug security patch were through the play store (for me and some others), but also may have been re-pushed through carrier to get people from 1.5
