My sister had the same problem with her droid, She took it to Verizon and there was nothing they could do. She had to get a new device. Maybe find a cheap phone you can use until the Bionic drops?? I think most phones are made to crap out after about 2 years.

I think the lag is probably due to Sprint's network. Are you connected to 4G or 3G? I can only imagine the lag if you connected to Sprint's 3G.

flashed the most current nightly ( #129 I think), everything looks to be running pretty good but I can't find the built in screen shot..? Also battery life has been pretty bad compared to MikShifted ROM. Does it usually take time for the ROM to settle in or should I try a different kernel?

MikShifted G is definitely the best Sense ROM out there. I really like the Sense 3 lockscreen
