I have the same issue.. I believe it's lollipop that's seems to cause this.. As I had my fingerprint since the day I bought it (launch day) n had no issues on kitkat. Marshmallow can't come soon enough!!

I agree mate... They haven't given the love to the note 4 we were expecting. Paying that much money... But I feel if all these features make it to note 4 in marshmallow, I will gladly take it.

Or you could use dynamic notifications. It lights up the screen with an icon of the app that has a notification. works perfectly on the nexus 5.
