THANK YOU, Jfromine! I also have a Note 5 and was locked out of it after a reboot because the keyboard would not display. But by going into emergency mode i was able to log in, then after turning off emergency mode the keyboard works normally elsewhere, without a reboot.

I noticed i started getting this soon after I installed AVG. I am no longer having this problem after I uninstalled AVG.
