Yes. Assuming you are using genuine Samsung accessories. Plugging the Samsung 2A wall charger into the phone base or into the Samsung charging pad produces the 'lighting bolt' icon indicating fast charging is occurring. My guess there's a lot of third party charging gear which is poorly made or...

FYI - If a site determines you have a faster connection, they can serve higher quality images resulting in higher data costs. When going from HSPA to LTE my usage went 1 GB to 2 GB for similar activity.

The battery is removable just not easily. There are directions (explanation?) on the last two pages of the owners manual. An end-user with some skill with electronics could do it but the cost of the tools would make it a wash. Most li-ion batteries get about 500 cycles so probably not an issue...
