I saw the same thing on mine. It actually isn't limited to Gmail, but it's more likely there due to the long text lines in the notification panel. I got tired of it and ended up installing the powershade app.

That's a hardware fault. Possibly a bad graphics memory section. It's not a display connection issue as it only happens in the raster graphics zones. Get it replaced.

Well, I got my ship notice 1/3. It's coming via Fedex SmartPost with a scheduled arrival of 1/8.

I'll wait for the V30 too. I get the impression that LG is splitting their flagship phone market. The G series becomes the mass market phone. This makes some of the decisions around features left out of the G6 a bit more sensible. Then the V30 comes out as the enthusiast phone with all the bells...

That does look like a difficult fix. You really are better off getting a new one. However if I were to attempt a fix, I'd add a metal pin as the conductor inside the posts. That's the only way you'll provide enough strength to keep the posts from breaking off again.

As LG hasn't announced G4 support for N, we can't be sure it will even get it. Assuming that the G4 does get N, I'd be looking at 4th quarter. I base that on the N release occurring late August plus an additional 2-4 months prepping it for the G4 and getting it through carrier approvals.
