Yeah, so the short version is: if you're on NC5--you're screwed. Long version: Because the bootloader is locked tighter than Fort Knox (get the pun?) anyone on NC5 can only use Safestrap custom recovery. Safestrap cannot be used with Cyanogenmod ROMs--only Clockwork Mod or TWRP recoveries...

I recommend downloading Root Checker Basic from the Play Store. Verify that your phone is actually still rooted before going through these other steps. One of your OTA downloads might've broken root in the past. Posted via the Android Central App

Yeah so after forever and a day I figured out that the NC5 kernel is patched so tight that custom recoveries (CWM, TWRP) can't work on it. Anything after the MDK release has the patch. Because the recoveries can't be downloaded--I can't flash any Cyanogenmod ROMs. Fun... Posted via the Android...

Yeah, I rooted it with TowelRoot v3. TWRP says that it's installed, but when I attempt to boot into recovery mode (either through TWRP Root Manager or by using 'VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER' combo) it just goes into Odin mode. It's bypassing the actual recovery mode. I appreciate your Rashr...

Yeah, I just followed the prompt to 'Reboot to Recovery'. I didn't use a button-combo to do it myself. It just boots into Odin mode automatically.
