I'm trying to change my shutdown animation. I downloaded the shutdown zip file from xda. I placed the video using Root Explorer in system/media. Nothing changed. Any advice?

Sounds like the bug will be fixed with the CM9 update. Thanks for the link, I'll probably just wait until the next update.

I read through a couple more threads on here and found out about pulling the USB after 5 minutes. Everything ran fine after I pulled my battery and hooked up to the computer sans battery. Now rooted and rocking Cyanogenmod 9 beta.

I'm trying to root for the 1st time. My phone is in download mode and in Odin I unclicked Auto-Reboot and have PDA checked. I am getting the yellow "COM" box. I clicked start and...nothing. I'm not getting the blue progress bar on my phone, and in Odin in the Message box the last line says...

I tried to update it in the market, and the update costs $1.99? When I go to the Amazon market, where I installed it, I don't have the option to update.
