Forgot to say I removed the inside liner on the inside of the back part of the case.

I did the same thing but instead of taking off the screen protector I removed the inner liner inside the back cover. Seems to be just fine with the rubber cover holding everything together nicely. Best of all worlds I'd say.

I got my defender to fit with the charging back on my S5. The front clear face will not "click" into the back piece but you can hold them together and then allow the rubber back piece to hold the whole thing together. Maybe sacrifice a bit of protection but I don't think anything apprecaible...
