ah - transpires that the phone is within warranty and it is a known issue, so LG are picking it up to fix it - yippee :) Will keep you all posted on any developments

I have wiped cache and data and then restarted with the same result - just hangs on the swirly coloured dot page. I have turned the device off and am now continuing to charge it to see if that makes a difference.... Cheers

My phone ran out of charge during the night so when i awoke I put it on charge for an hour or so. i then turned it on - it displayed 'google' and then it displayed the swirling coloured dots. It progressed no further. If I hold down the start button it restarts, only to hang at the same...
