ES File Explorer - can't see one computer on my LAN

I think I did solve this (or maybe it solved itself?), but I'm in the middle of moving to a new house, and my computers are all still in boxes. Once it's all set back up, I'll try to remember to see whether everything is working and get back to you. If you haven't heard from me in a couple of...

    S-voice problems

A problem I've had on my Note 2 since I first got it is that if I use S Voice for directions, it sends the name into Google Maps instead of looking the person up in my contacts and sending the address. For example, if I say "Navigate to John Smith", it will open Google Maps and then Google Maps...

ES File Explorer - can't see one computer on my LAN

I'm having trouble with the LAN functionality in ES File Explorer. When I hit "Scan", it finds all of the computers on my home network just fine, and for most of them, when I double-tap, I can browse into them just fine. However, for one, when I double-tap, I get this popup: The WLAN is...

    Trying to understand Nandroid backup/recovery.

To my dismay (and some loss of data), I've found that a Nandroid backup does not, in fact, back up everything, nor does Titanium. Neither of them seems to grab data that is stored in files on the internal SD Card. This weekend, I installed an update for the ROM I'm using, and before doing it...

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - keyboard - keeps forgetting added words

One more thing on this - I don't need to jump through hoops anymore to add a word to the dictionary. If I type an unknown word and hit the space bar, it just seems to be automatically learned.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - keyboard - keeps forgetting added words

About a month ago, I flashed the N3BULA ROM for my Note 2 (a 4.3-based ROM with some Note 3 features), and the problem went away. I don't know whether it was all of the resetting of caches so on that I had to do before flashing the ROM, or the keyboard included with the ROM being slightly...

GO Launcher EX - Android Settings

When you first start using GO Launcher EX and hit the Menu -> Settings button to get to Android Settings, it asks you if you want to go directly to Android Settings or use its "quick settings" menu. I chose "quick settings". However, I've changed my mind and would like to have that button...

I'm lost with my jail break

I had this problem, and it turned out that I needed to unblock the JAR file. Here is the thread on XDA where I asked the same question you're asking. Here is where I got my answer. Look about halfway down his post, where it says this:

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - keyboard - keeps forgetting added words

I use the Samsung keyboard, and have been able to add words to its dictionary using the technique posted in other threads here (type the word, hit space, hit backspace, select the word, hit the checkmark in the top-left of the copy/paste bar). However, when I do that, the word I add isn't...

i-bolt dock - what makes it tick?

My wife has a car dock that isn't the i-bolt, and when she puts her GN2 into it and plugs it in, it doesn't automatically go into dock mode, start CarHome Ultra, and so on. She loves that when she's in my car and uses my i-bolt, it does all that, but doesn't like the i-bolt itself. What...

The best driving GPS navigation app?

I'm looking for a similar feature set, with a few additional requirements: Big Buttons. I'm driving! If I have to touch the screen, I don't want to have to use my fine motor control. My Garmin had nice big buttons that I could hit without even trying, and every one of the nav apps I've...

S-Voice "Play", "Pause", etc for PowerAmp?

I've done that, but it didn't change anything. Incidentally, the app that's launched by S-Voice "Play" is the stock Samsung "Music Player", not Google Music (I goofed in my original post). That app isn't the default for anything.

S-Voice "Play", "Pause", etc for PowerAmp?

Is it possible to use S-Voice to control PowerAmp using voice commands? I can start it by saying "Play <song>" if PowerAmp is the last music player I used, but so far, if I say "Play", "Pause", and so on, they don't seem to work. In fact, if I just say "Play" by itself, even with PowerAmp...
