This only happened to me AFTER the latest software update! I thought it was due to close proximity to my car, but it happens when I am very far from my car. I'm going to try the tiny reset hole on the bottom and other fixes here.

Settings/Hands-free Mode. Mine reads my texts and tells me who is calling, but sometimes just turns itself off.

I close everything. It opens up when I need it.

This may sound dumb, but try Settings/Bluetooth/ and check the phone and multimedia boxes. My husband's Moto X won't speak the phone's nav instructions through the car speakers unless he turns the multimedia OFF, but then he can't play music from the phone through the car speakers. 2013 Jeep...

2014 Lexus- I finally watched their video about the Nav/phone and realized I had to 'update contacts' in the car. My 2011 Toyota picked up the contacts without extra steps.

Go to Settings/Bluetooth and uncheck the Multimediawork box. Leave the phone box checked. See if that helps.
