I deal with this annoyance as well. When switching from the Note 10+, l'll put my sim in the iPhone and then initiate a chat on my verizon and ask to re-enable visual voicemail.

That's a great point, I wonder if weather/humidity plays a role. Mine works generally fine, although I'll go several days where it works great, and others where is does not. Reminds me of a ballplayer on a hot streak, or in a slump.

Very nice! I’ve always liked Tech21 cases and am strongly considering one for my newly purchased Note 10+. If you don’t mind me asking, how is the camera cutout? Is the camera lens well protected from scratches? I prefer a little bit of lift by the camera lens and Tech21 usually cuts it close...

Re: Which is better? Rear fp reader or in display for reader. Rear dedicated sensor for me as well. I had the Note 9 and currently own the S10+.

I've heard some folks complain that it's too close to the camera, but I don't feel this way at all. I love it. I went from a Pixel to an iPhone X, and now to a Note 9, and am surprised by how much I missed the FPS. Strange, actually.

I really like the placement, and find it fast and reliable. I'm a fan for sure.

Not sure if you're still looking, but Samsung.com is offering $200 off the S8+, and $350 for a Note 5 on trade-in, so your total would be around $300 for a new S8+. They're also throwing in a free pair of IconX wireless earbuds. It's a deal I'm currently contemplating.

I'm making this same switch today after work: HTC 10 to the S7 Edge. I love the 10 but have the WiFi connectivity issue and it's killing me. So it goes back. Looking forward to the S7E. Do you prefer it to the 10?
