Had the same problem; I firewalled the app via Avast and it stopped draining my battery.

After this install a firewall to keep apps from accessing the Internet (i.e. phoning home with your location/contact information). I went with Avast; there may be others as well but thus far this app is very nice for keeping me in control of my device...
