It does not come pre-configured. It will ask for a Google account email address and password when first turned on.

Thanks, but that doesn't work for me either, oddly. A long press on the Me box does nothing except briefly flash a yellow outline when I list my finger. A long press on the accompanying message pops up message options like forwarding.
