    Android 10 on Essential phone

Installed it yesterday and it's been working fine so far. I don't use the new gesture navigation options because it says they are not compatible with Nova. But even so, it feels very quick and responsive, the battery life is still very good, and I really have no complaints at this point.

Q release is simply 'Android 10'

Nope, you aren't alone. I don't care if it is a letter, a number or "Quit while you're ahead". I just want software (and hardware) that works as advertised. If Google is going to release a major update every year and call it whatever they like, that's fine. The name doesn't effect the product at...

    Essential Phone Camera 2019

That version works like a champ, thanks. Now to play with some of the advanced settings and see how well it performs in manual mode. I like the night sight feature, but I think I can do better with manually adjusting the ISO and shutter speed.

    Essential Phone Camera 2019

Which APK file did you use for the 6.2 version? All the files I've found install but won't run on my PH-1 with Pie so I have to reinstall the 6.1 version I've been using for a while.

    Essential To Sell Ph-2

As stated in the article; "It's unclear whether this is based on sources speaking to DBS Designing, or whether it's simply wishful thinking on their part." My money is on the wishful thinking at this point, at least until someone at Essential confirms or denies it.

Clock goes back five hours automatically

Location service turned on and working? I've heard of some GPS issues which could potentially also play into your phone not knowing exactly where it's located and therefore picking an incorrect timezone. I don't have a solution for you to explore, just mentioning some things that could be part...

    Remove learnt words in Pie

Ah, that's where it is hiding. I was looking for a complete language dictionary and not just a personal one for words I've added. My personal dictionary is empty, even though I know I've had to add a few words including my wife's name which is pretty unique. So there's really nothing for me to...

    Remove learnt words in Pie

With both GBoard and SwiftKey I can long press the word and it gives me an option to remove it. I'm not sure where else you would look, as I have yet to find the entire dictionary to be able to scroll through it to pick words to remove.

Dragging App Icons Seems Hit or Miss

No change with the November update. I can see the icon change size slightly as I'm pressing on it in my apps list, but it won't let me drag it to the home screen or see the app info to uninstall it. So this makes me think it's not a hot spot issue. Only a reboot of the phone fixes it, and even...

Not able to use manual rotate and accessibility menu features together in Android 9

I guess that is not something I personally would have discovered as I don't use the Accessibility Service. But you are correct that they both don't work at the same time.

    weird issue with Bluetooth audio

I don't notice any issue with the audio on my PH-1. I've adjusted the EQ in Google Play a little, but it was just for personal taste using some of the presets, not to fix any underlying issues. I use an 808 Canz BT speaker, and everything sounds fine to me.

    what was your first smartphone?

I started on that Lumia 520, moved up to a 640 for a little over a year before getting my 950XL. I still have the 520 and 950XL, but I sold my 640 to a coworker about 6 months ago. The 950XL is my backup phone, and my go-to for incredible photos.

First for me was a Nokia Lumia 520 running Windows Phone 7.

Google Location Services Status Bar Icon

According to the Android Police article referenced above, the phone is showing the Location icon whenever you tap the Home button, even on the Stock Android launcher. Happy to say it does not happen for me at all. Running Pie on an Essential PH-1 here with Location service enabled. So it's...
