    It's not a problem, you can change defaults from the settings pretty easily without clearing anything.

    They aren't random sounds, this is pretty standard when adjusting the volume like that, it lets you hear the sound at your newly selected volume. It's intentional.

    Mine works awesome. I've not had an issue. Maybe you're not scanning enough variety of your thumb when setting it up?
