    G PAD 8.3 GPE official

same hardware (dim screen and blue line) means I'll stick with my Nexus 7. Maybe I'll consider a change if it turns out they updated the lcd panel or something but I doubt it's any different than a standard G Pad.

    Blue Line & Screen Leak

not that I'd wish the hassle on anyone, but i hope more people do complain to LG about the blue line. They've been so hands-off with the launch of this device I wonder if they even know this is a problem. While I agree that it's something you have to be looking for to really notice it, it was...

Thinking of getting an 8" tablet to replace my Nexus 7

I had the G Pad for about a week, but I returned it. More on that in a moment. As far as the size goes it is actually only slightly larger than a nexus 7. The screen is obviously 1.3 inches bigger, but b/c they use up a lot more of the bezel, the tablet itself is only like a centimeter wider...

Who is returning gpad and why???

I already returned mine after a week. I liked a lot about it, but wasn't totally in love with it because of the dark screen and average battery life. I also had the blue line issue, so best case was that I had to swap it for a new one. I got a refund instead b/c I figure I'll wait to see if...

G pad battery life not great.

you're the one that kept stating how many minutes you were getting per each percentage of battery life, so why wouldn't I assume that you calculated the time remaining? And if you were using battery at a certain observable rate then why do you care what the OS is saying when you are observing a...

Screen comparison and Issues N7 2 vs LG Pad 8.3

I tried this already on mine and it doesn't really fix the problem. It ups the contrast so that the colors are lighter, but it doesn't do anything to increase the brightness of the backlight which is the real problem with the screen. Overall it's not like the screen is bad or unusable, but...

G pad battery life not great.

might want to check your math. 3 minutes per 1% means that at 45% charge remaining you'd have 135 minutes remaining or 2.25 hours. Still not great, but it's more accurate than your calculation.

    G PAD get KitKat!

no he didn't. Look around at some reviews (both professional and personal). This screen's backlight is much dimmer than comparable tablets. He's not saying the screen is bad. I found that the colors and sharpness are very good, but the screen is very dark. Compare the G Pad at 50%...

    LG G Pad 8.3 Hands-On

one issue with this tablet is that the screen is dark so you need to keep the brightness higher than on a lot of comparable tablets (N7 2013 for example). That maybe drains the battery faster.

    LG G Pad 8.3 Hands-On

I read another article that points out the type of bluetooth getting certified for the V510 is only supported on Android 4.4 and since an LTE G Pad is highly unlikely to come with a 4.4 build, you could interpret this detail as evidence that the V510 is a Nexus device. Anyway, I noticed the...

    Root available for G Pad?

is there any risk involved in using the Kingo App to root? Is there any possibility of bricking the device during the Kingo root process or is it foolproof? If it could brick the device then isn't it best to wait for a custom recovery?

    LG G Pad 8.3 Hands-On

I actually noticed this on mine. It's most obvious when I close all tabs in chrome and have just the black screen (with the "+ new tab" button at the top). I don't think it's heat related b/c I think I can see it every time I view the black screen in chrome. I assumed it had something to do...
