Following. Having the exact same issue. I've also noticed that since upgrading to Lollipop 5.0 on AT&T, it my phone is plugged in and charging and a notification pops up, the screen stays on indefinitely, even when locked, instead of turning off a few seconds after the notification.

Out of all the suggestions in this thread, this solution has hands down been the most effective. The worst that's happened is a few instances where I hit the home button and nothing happens, but 90% of the time it goes to the home screen within 2 seconds. It's still doesn't solve the issue but...
