I hate to sound daft, but are you calling GoogleVoice from a # that is listed under your GoogleVoice forwards? If you do that, you generally get a voice prompt to dial the # you are trying to call through GoogleVoice. Try calling from a phone that doesn't have an entry in your profile? *shrugs*...
