I had to click on Data Usage under Quick Settings, then Wi-Fi to find My Magazine. Clicked on it and it gave me the option to Restrict background data. I unchecked that and it appears to have switched off My Magazine. Whatever developer thought that up ought to be fired. I buy my magazines...

Thanks! On my Galaxy Avant My Magazine doesn't show up in applications. I couldn't figure out why my data plan was running out of high speed so fast and the battery has been hard to charge or keep charged since the last updates. I wouldn't have found the restrict background without this comment.

Thank you so much! I have an Avant (which was represented as an upgrade to my Galaxy III by a T-mobile representative) and didn't show up on any of the other fixes. My Magazine didn't even show up in the applications list under settings.
