The notification used to appear every time I plugged my phone into the computer. It's been missing ever since a few days ago. My computer updated recently, could that be an issue?

It's worked fine everyday but now all of a sudden my computer wont recognize my phone and I cannot transfer files to / from my computer. I tried cleaning and "lifiting the tounge" but it still will not recognize my phone as a device. Any solution to this? I am using Windows 7. Even when I try...
