I use my phone's GPS all the time. If you have a CD player that you're not using, you can use a mount to attach it there or you can attach your mount to your air vent. I have an Exogear mount.

Check out Exogear. The suction is great and it can hold a GS5 with a case.

I'm not sure what type of car mount you want (dashboard mount, air vent, or CD mount), but you should consider Exogear's mount. I have a GS3 with a hard shell case and it (ExoMount Touch) holds my phone just fine. It's also strong enough to hold a Note 4. The mounts are on amazon and opensky...

The ExoMount Touch, ExoMount Touch Air, or the ExoMount CD from Exogear would be good for the Note 4. Check them out on Amazon or OpenSky.
