Android Central Photo Contest: Light bulb

Taken with a Nexus 5 with HDR+ enabled. [No editing done, I zoomed in before taking the image.] PS: I've posted this image in a photo contest before, I didn't win, and since this contest was relevant I posted the old image again. I hope it's not an issue.

Is a closed source Android possible?

Is there any law that prevents this from happening? I know. Thanks, but I know AOSP is open source. I am asking if the project could be closed down one day, has something like this happened in the past?

Is a closed source Android possible?

Not that I want a closed source Android, but given how there is now quite a bit of stuff by Google that is closed source such as Play Services (or so, I've heard), is there anything preventing Google from making Android completely closed source similar to iOS and Windows Phone?

    Weekly Photo Contest: Metals

Taken with a Nexus 5. I visited Trail 6, it's a hiking track, a month back and here's an image I took on the way back. The image hasn't been tampered with.

I use this much more than my Nexus 7 12/13.

I wouldn't blame you. The Nexus 9 is like nearly PC grade powerful, let down by a few construction and software issues but nonetheless a powerhouse of a device. It's full potential hasn't even been reached yet.

    Weekly Photo Contest: Vintage

Here's an HDR+ image I've taken with my Google Nexus 5. The image was shot at a place named Radio City, here in Islamabad Pakistan. The place has a huge collection of old albums, movies, etc. This is one of the best and most "vintage" images I got from in there. Also keep in mind that since I...

Thank you for the information you've provided. Oh and by the way I would advise against using quick chargers, not an extremely good idea.

Will live tiles power the future?

While you are right, I highly doubt the cards in Google Now were inspired from Windows Phone.

    Moto x with lollipop

I would advise waiting a slight bit until the memory leak bug has been patched in a future update. Lollipop is an extremely nice update but the few bugs can become really troublesome at times. Rest assured however, Motorola hasn't forgotten you guys.

How to Properly Take Care of a Phone Battery?

Recently I've been seeing a lot of posts here about people saying that you shouldn't let your battery discharge below 40%. Though I dismissed most of these posts as myths in the first place I've done some research and different places come up with different answers. My laptop, a Sony VAIO...

Will live tiles power the future?

Considering that Windows Phone doesn't allow more than eight apps to be in the recents, nor more than 20 apps that can refresh in the background battery life will obviously be higher on the HTC One M8 for Windows than the much more functional Android variant. Also hacking Android isn't child's...

Will live tiles power the future?

Personally ever since I posted this I have done quite a bit of research on this, and no it is highly unlikely that live tiles could beat widgets, especially in their current form. The live tiles were originally introduced to Windows Phone because of no central notification system, the live...

Next time you get an ad, press the multitasking button and you'll get to know what app is giving the ads and uninstall it.

    virus issue

First of all, it is extremely unlikely that it is a virus. I've never heard of viruses on Android, but I have heard of malware. They are different things. Do you see odd types of ads everywhere or only in specific applications? Also if your son stuck with downloading apps from Google Play...
