My S4 was doing this with my 2012 Honda Civic until I check the "don't show this again" box and said ok. The Honda now displays my contact list and BT doesn't disconnect constantly.

I tried, but it failed and now says I have to wait 24 hours to check again for update.

Very interesting, do you know if it will work with the OtterBox Defender case?

I just left everything in iTunes the was it was and use iSynchr, works like a champ, my playlists are already there, and I don't have to try reorganizing.

Same in my Honda Civic, iPhone worked but this one doesn't. I'm not sure about the mass storage mode app but I will try that tonight for giggles. I do have mine working over Bluetooth now so I can still have my tunes. And my steering wheel controls work flawlessly with BT.

I use iSyncr to sync my iTunes music and playlists to my phone, makes it fast and simple. Look it up on Google Play, there is a Lite version so you can try it out.

I recently switched from my iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S4 and was dreading the need to maintain an iTunes library and Winamp or similar, then I stumbled on iSyncr and my problems were solved. I don't know if it works based on checked or unchecked songs, but you can give it a shot.
