I'm not sure what the mechanics are behind this, but clearly Huawei are trying everything to make sure that as many apps as possible are available and up to date. You can only admire that solution for at least the short term. For me the update notifications was a nice bonus.

I am seeing a lot of Apple-esque tech being put out by Huawei recently (trying to create a full Ecosystem I assume). Are they a bit of a knock off or actually a genuine contender to be a world tech leader? Just curious after the problems with Huawei are ironing themselves out.

I think the apps are going to take a while to come due to the security needed. For me actually that gives me faith that it isn't being rushed. I'm currently using my app from phone clone but I also know that the browser version is almost as good? I hope that helps...

Honestly I've had some very minor things that aren't exactly where I thought they would be. Withing a couple of days though, I had everything in the right place and I hvnet looked back since. There is an alternative for everything you can get. Some of them better like the health app for example?

I have used quick apps which is good. It almost looks like the legitimate app and even saves your preferences when you sign in with your Gmail account. [Mod redacted] It's identical and has the same features. It's brilliant. Both are good options though.

I know that you will get Android security updates. I have had a few myself. In terms on app security and updates they are done I terally via emui and Huawei. To my knowledge though you will get full security coverage from a combination of sources.

As long as there are noises that the App Gallery versions are coming soon I can live with working with the browser version for now. I assume that a contactless payment service will have to wait too?

100% I prefer here maps. I do agree Google has its good points too. From an overall experience though definitely here maps. I heard there was a Tom Tom app too coming anyone heard anything about that?

I've had a couple of banking apps now need updating whilst using my new Huawei. I'm now running them through the browser and they are 95% the same. I was just wondering though if anybody knows when the banking apps are going to appear through App Gallery?

I'd probably agree with this. I think that all companies generalise data to sell more products. It would be naiive to think otherwise. But also I believe there is nothing to worry about and nothing at all sinister is being done by my of the big companies.

I've been using Google Lens on my phone since it was first available on the market. I use it for a variety of things but now I cannot update it on my p40 Pro. Are there any AI lens alternatives?

That's exactly how I use mine. It isn't 100% perfect but it is a fantastic alternative that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between.

I'm using it and for me after looking into it, it feels no different than an app store? They are taking the necessary procautions from where I'm sitting.

I recently bought a P40 Pro and I would like to use contactless payment where possible. Any news of an alternative or how long a Huawei Payment system will be?
