T-mobile doesn't have 4g, only 3g and 3g+. H is for both, G is 2g and E is edge.

Is there any reason to not update the original apps that came on the MT4G? Such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, and such? Are the original apps made any different to work specially for the MT4G or just what was out when the phone software was installed?

Yep, its built into the phone. Works great for me. The password that came on the phone is 1234567890.

Mine did the same thing when I got it. I took some silicone grease and barely dampened my finger with some and gently rubbed across the bottom of the phone. Then I took a micro-fiber towel and wiped up any traces that remained and no more noises.

I'd say that has a lot to do with it. The first week I was a crazy man playing with mine, but my wife, who isn't as interested, messed with it very little and her battery still drained pretty quickly to begin with.
