No idea. We have all of the notification settings set so that it should wake up the screen and show the text preview if the screen is locked or asleep, but it is not working. For the other poster who asked, it is Sprint. Will see if textra and/or handcent will allow it.

Yeah, tried all of that, but it is not working. I use Handcent on my S4 and it pops up if the screen is asleep or the phone is locked. May have to swing by a Sprint store to see if they have any ideas. Thanks for the reply

I noticed the same thing, starting about 10 days ago. It seems to usually me when I get notified by Facebook about a post on my mall or a FB message. I use the yahoo mail app (vs the generic HTC messenger app) and don't have the problem. Not sure what is causing it.

Here is a question though -- how long should it flash to notify you of an event (msg, missed call, etc)? Mine seems to flash for about 15 mins and then stops. Is that normal/expected? I can find no mention of it in the manual.

I think it starts FB if you have it set to sync with it. I'm new to Android and just learning it, but go to <home>, press <menu> then settings, then <Accounts & Sync> to see what is syncing. Turn off what you don't like. I don't think it uses much battery. I have mine syncing with FB...

How do you set the evo shift to use predictive text with the physical qwerty keyboard? It seems to be "default" with the on-screen keyboard, but I can't figure out how to set it for the physical keyboard.
