Can nobody tell me what's the normal function when a exercise is started and what happens with guide messages?

Hello all, Got my gear fit 2 a couple of weeks ago and like most of it. I also use the run exercise with it while wearing bluetooth headphones. When you start an exercise you can activate guide messages and at intervals. But this doesn't seem to do anything while excersising. I expected to get...
