Yea the D3 is pretty sweet.. I have the D2G right now, and the new Moto UI on the D3 is actually pretty nice compared to mine, If the Bionic wasnt so close, I probably would of got the D3

I know they have some thing in contracts for people in service, like put your contract on hold while your away, etc.. you might want to ask them about that. If not maybe keep the plan, and get a global phone and take it with you!

Thats not 100% true.. I have verizon, and used batteries from other motorola phones on mine, even from a diff carrier. just double check that there is no pin difference and that the battery is ment to match up correctly on your new phone.. Manufacturers usually do that so you cant use other...
