Screen Overlay Detected, what can I do?

So is there an actual solution yet? Because constantly disabling apps, in part or in whole, simply because Google has no idea how to handle their own security vulnerabilities is absolutely ridiculous.

Screen Overlay Detected - To Change This Permission......6P is messed up

Is there any way I can tell my phone to stop caring about screen overlays altogether ? If it always has to be off for *anything* to function, why have the option in the first place? It clearly serves point and the permission should just be removed entirely. I *constantly* have to switch back...

Keeps saying need to turn off screen overlay

Is there any way I can tell my phone to stop caring about screen overlays? If it always has to be off for *anything* to function, why have it? I *constantly* have to switch back in forth because the apps that need to do it actually need to do it, which renders every other app useless. The is...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

I figure the wpa_supplicant.conf file is the source of the problem. That it's somehow been corrupted and the info is no longer being stored there, so the info lasts only as long as your connected to the network. Is there anyway to get access to this file that doesn't involve root?

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

Well, no, we shouldn't *need* to be rooted... that's the entire point. Our phones were working correctly, automatically reconnecting to known passcoded wifi networks once in range (as all my Android phones have done until now), then at some point something broke and we're trying to find out...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

It *never* remembers a Wifi pass code? Mine had been doing so for about 4 months. I can't help but think there's something seriously wrong with your phone too. I know there's a file stored on the phone that lists all saved SSIDs and pass codes. I'm not rooted, though, so I can't get to mine. You...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

Re: Can't remember WIFI passwords We don't have the auto-login checkbox. My screen looks like this: http://setupcorner.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/How-to-Setup-Wi-Fi-Notification-on-HTC-One-Max.jpg It's annoying as hell, as I get notifications for ANY network in range, open or not now...

HTC One: Problems after KitKat 4.4 update (WiFi and Google TTS)

Re: Problems after KitKat 4.4 update (WiFi and Google TTS) Same here. Renaming didn't fix it.

    Can't remember WIFI passwords

I know there's a lot of reported wifi bugs, but I didn't see any related to the problem I'm having. I'm having the same issue as reported in this thread: For whatever reason, it seems my phone somehow lost all wifi login info and as well as the ability to save new ones. It's a stock Verizon...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

Re: Can't remember WIFI passwords It's not rooted. It's a stock Verizon HTC One. Maybe that's why there's no auto login option? It only started going haywire this year, prior to the KitKat rollout. I bought it in September, and it had been working fine for months up until a few weeks ago...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

Re: Can't remember WIFI passwords Yeah, through Verizon. Also, I don't have an auto login option under the advanced wifi settings. :( This is endlessly frustrating. I don't want to have to sacrifice security and change my password to something short and easy just because I have to manually...

HTC One: Can't remember WIFI passwords

Re: Can't remember WIFI passwords I'm having the exact same issue. It just started out of the blue a few months ago. I've since wiped my phone, reset the router, tried different network SSIDs and passwords. Nothing works. For whatever reason, it seems my phone somehow lost all wifi login in...

    HTC One Desk Top Mode

Ha! Right under my nose. I'd played around with daydream only briefly, since the only thing listed was the useless Colors, so I never put it together. Thanks!

Anyway to make dashclock the default lock screen?

Apparently I just can't, for no explicable reason: Awesome. And the widgets shrink every time the devices sleeps, also for no reason at all. It certainly doesn't need the room since it's the only widget I can add. Can't unlink ringer/notifications, and now this... Switching to my new phone...

Anyway to make dashclock the default lock screen?

Same thing here (on Verizon's HTC One). I'd love to use Dashclock, but I end up with two clocks on the screen, Dashclock's and the stock one at the bottom. There's on swiping left or right, and long pressing doesn't do anything other than let me resize Dashclock's widget. There has to be a...
