    [Kernel][android_kernel_lge_msm7x27-3.0.x][bigsuperkernel-3.08]

Re: [Kernel][android_kernel_lge_msm7x27-3.0.x (3.0.8)] Now that CrossBreeder is dead, any recommendations for a zip package with analogous functionality? Or, should the latest version of CrossBreeder work for indefinite future?

Re: [Kernel][android_kernel_lge_msm7x27-3.0.x (3.0.8)] Same problem here. Link to Gapps that you ended up using? And, what apps did you remove?

    [ROM][WIP]CM10.0.0-RC0-BobZ

Following up on the above, I wonder if there might be some cool ARMv6 binaries to be gleaned from the ROMs (built for LG Optimus One GSM family) found at this link: [ROM][4.1.2][CM10][UNOFFICIAL]LG Optimus One Family CM10[Nov. 10, 2012: Build 6/RC 2] - xda-developers Same guy who is leading...

Bluetooth DUN - How to make it work?? So I have BB 2.4 installed. I tried using bluetooth DUN (i.e., using iBluever on iPod Touch 3G). I can get pairing, but it says that the DUN Service is not available. Which caused me to look deeper, where I found, in the file...

[HOWTO] Edit PPP and M.IP to enable Data on Different Carriers

Re: [HOWTO] Edit PPP and M.IP to enable Data on Different Carrier After you do this once, you can change your User ID by starting with step 12. You do not need QXDM any more. With what networks does this mod enable the phones to work? And, does this somehow enable roaming on VZW towers...

Rooting your LG Thrive - Manual and Auto Methods

My manual instructions are a little dated. Though my instructions still work (and probably are what goes on behind the scenes with any rooting methodology), Gingerbreak.apk is an amazingly simple method to root and unroot as wanted (and what I use on my Phoenix - prefer it to the Thrive for...

Firmware Update on the Phenoix released

My phone is a Phoenix as well. I will eventually try unrooting phone, and seeing if that makes a difference. In case it is more than simply unrooting phone (by removing /system/bin/su, /system/bin/busybox, and /system/app/Superuser.apk) that needs to be done in order to permit downloading, I...

Firmware Update on the Phenoix released

Second try, second fail. It fails on the step "Validating Software Package". It says "Invalid software package". I wonder if it has to do with either: 1. Fact that I am on Straight Talk (not ATT), using ATT network to download, and/or 2. Fact that I have phone rooted and a number of changes...

Thrive owners want a custom kernel? READ

Don't we need a custom recovery before we get a custom kernel? Or, am I missing something?

Firmware Update on the Phenoix released

I tried downloading, it downloaded, and then said "Bad file" (or something like that). Not sure if it is actually a bad file, or if the installer first checked to see if my Phoenix is rooted (which it is), and then failed to install. When I tried downloading again, it said that I needed to...

I second the use of K9 mail to replace stock email app. Also, for those of you who use PGP for their email, install APG (Android Privacy Guard), which works seamlessly with K9 to encrypt/decrypt email.

    ARCHIVED: [ROM+Kernel] ~*~ Bumblebee 2.4 ~*~ (6/25/2011)

In versions prior to 2.3, I had no problem with updating via Market an app that had originally installed in /data/app, but was then moved to /system/app using Root Explorer (thereby freeing up additional space for apps in /data/app). With 2.3, I now have issues doing that. Is that due to the...

LG NOT Releasing Source Code for Thrive?

The link for the download is now working (though the "Notice" link is still showing "File does not exist" error). Happy ROM building (I am waiting for Phoenix source, since I have moved on to the Phoenix).

LG NOT Releasing Source Code for Thrive?

Dang; you beat me to reporting it. I just got the same confirmation a few minutes ago. Also, on a related note (source code for LG Phoenix), I received the following from LG: "2. We regret to advise you that we?re preparing to distribute the open source software used in LGP505 now. We...

    MAC address unavailable

Need to make sure WiFi is turned on first. Then, go into the menu you describe above, and MAC address should show up.
