Sounds very similar to mine - Maybe check your screen brightness setting esp. if the screen is ok during boot up. After bootup, and while screen is still "balck", see if you can pull down the setting menu, and change the brightness setting - the brightness slider on my s6 is about a half-inch...

Thanks everyone - afer rebooting with your help found out in very dark light my screen brightness setting had been set to lowest (not by my action)
