After the new phone is active the old will still come on with out activation prompts. You will be able to use it over wifi. My son uses my old EVO like an ipod touch. He can do anything online as long as there is wifi. sent from a GS3 gone Wicked

First i would try a new cable. If that doesn't help you can flash a different kernel thru myhub. I'd try the stock kernel first. sent from a GS3 gone Wicked
