My advice would be to just forget all of this business with trying to patch Samsuck's crappy unsupported software, and start fresh with Cyanogenmod: Cyanogenmod Epic 4G You will love your phone again!

Thanks! That one (oldgps.zip) worked for me, whereas Remove_GPS_Fix.zip from xda-developers did not. For what it's worth, here are my early impressions of EL30: When I reverted back to the EI22 gpsd, I would lock to 4 or 5 satellites. With EL30, I got 5 (though it did lock pretty quickly)...
