There is going to be a nexus 5 around November and I believe it will be preloaded with 4.4 Kitkat. I apologise if I am wrong.

I bought one recently though haven't recieved it. Should I go straight to 4.3 or can I check out the version pre-installed first and then switch?

As stated in the title what do you think will be the last android version for the nexus 4? Also is rooting difficult? I've never done it but I'm scared that I'll mess up the nexus 4 I bought today. Thanks. :)
