Galaxy S8 screen broke... AGAIN :@ Which phone to buy

You're a funny 76-year old, I have to admit :) Thanks for the advice. I used to have Google's Nexus 4 (I think LG was making them back then?). Liked it a lot, but after a year the battery was terrible and the phone was getting slower and slower. Will definitely consider it, and in fact leaning...

Galaxy S8 screen broke... AGAIN :@ Which phone to buy

Last year in September I bought a Galaxy S8. Loved it. 2 weeks in, I'm sitting on one of those round cushions on the floor and it drops out of my pocket--a 3ft / 1m fall at most. Screen cracked, and after a month I had to replace the screen for around $300-$400 because it was becoming...

Can't figure out how to update m8s+ firmware; considering buying new console

I have an android box that was bought a couple of years ago, probably sometime in 2015. Similar to this one: http://imgur.com/qVmmzFf The new kodi doesn't work on it anymore, and I can't figure out how to update the firmware from 4.4.2 to 5.1. Did some search on the internet, but some people...

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

It gets hot when the phone's active. No warning messages--just to the point that even holding the phone against your cheek is very uncomfortable.

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

I don't. I think that's good advice. Even when I didn't have Clean Master, my battery was still s**t. And if we have to do what Anti the Gamer suggests to preserve battery -- turning off auto brightness, auto update, etc. -- then it's a step in the wrong direction for Samsung. Anyways, I did a...

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

OK well I've also deleted Clean Master. I'm also disabling Location unless I need it, although I still think you should use a phone without having to turn things like Location On and Off and worry about battery. Let's see how it goes tomorrow after a full charge.

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

By overheating I meant heating: it's hot--hot enough that holding it against my cheek or in my hands become very uncomfortable. As for sync, I have app data, calendar, chrome, contacts, gmail, photos, photos backup, and People details on. I think that's reasonable and doesn't consume that much...

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

How? Hoooooooooow? Why isn't mine like that? I use play music, but I disabled Hangouts and OneNote. But these accounted only for 0.0%-1% of battery usage.

Galaxy S6 Frustrating battery life and overheating

I'm starting to really regret getting an S6. My friend and I were shopping for a phone in April and we had the whole iphone vs android/samsung debate. Now I wish I had listened to him. I just want a damn phone that freaking lasts from morning to night, not just for 8 hours. Phew. Excuse the...

Why do deleted Hotmail emails still show up?

Re: Deleted hotmail emails still showing up If you were talkinga bout me, I think i did mention that I'm using the latest Gmail app. I have an @hotmail.com account and my settings are exactly as you say there are, except for the encryption (SSL/TLS for incoming and STARTTLS for outgoing)...

Why do deleted Hotmail emails still show up?

Re: Deleted hotmail emails still showing up No, the deleted mail stays where it is. I'm not sure what an active sync outlook account is. Yes, under settings > accounts, this account is chosen to be synced (everything: contacts, mail, etc.).

Why do deleted Hotmail emails still show up?

Re: Deleted hotmail emails still showing up The incoming server address is imap-mail.outlook.com, so it's imap. And there's no such option for sync deletions with server or anything similar to that. :(

Why do deleted Hotmail emails still show up?

Deleted hotmail emails still showing up I'm running Lollipop on my galaxy s6. Doesn't matter whether I delete the emails from my compute or from my phone--they still show up on my phone. I'm using the Gmail app to access my hotmail / outlook account. Anyone knows what the heck is happening?

    Gmail delete not always working

Not sure if this is limited to my hotmail account on my Gmail mail app, or whether the Samsung native email app is also affected. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and use the Gmail mail app for two accounts. Here's the scenario: I wake up, see in the notification bar that I have 15 hotmail emails...
