Just had this problem with my wife's new Samsung Galaxy Express. Tried all the suggestions here but none worked. I removed the asterisk (*) from our Wi-Fi password and it worked like a charm. I hope this works for you too. I did try replacing the asterisk with a dollar sign ($) and that worked...
