Avast just started reporting malware in js on certain pages

Yeah, one of my users called about this earlier. There's a thread on Avast's site about it (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=112266.0), but Avast hasn't responded yet. And I can't find anything definitive about if it's actually an issue, or false positives.

So I'm buying a tablet for absolutely NO other reason than comics.

Pretty sure he wasn't referring to the people recommending those apps, but the ones recommending the CBR/CBZ viewing apps. Since (afaik) the only way to get files of that type is by downloading them from file-sharing sites (or scanning the comics in yourself I guess).

Is Google moving forward of backward with their Nexus devices?

Sure, if I wanted to go with a carrier that has sub-par coverage. I know people that use T-Mobile, and none of them even try to lie about the crappy coverage as compared to Verizon.

Is Google moving forward of backward with their Nexus devices?

Yes, for the people that are on T-Mobile, or the tiny, mostly regional companies that still have unlimited data. More RAM doesn't necessarily equal less freezes... Or, if you're on AT&T, for instance, you could end up with a bill larger than the national debt. Since carriers have only started...

[rumor] Anyone else bummed that the LG Nexus won't have an SD card slot?

    1. I know, right? They're way too slow. If you can't store a HD movie on the SD card and stream it properly, it just sucks. Oh...wait...you can. Nevermind, they're fast enough. 2. Internal storage is just as insecure, unless if you purposefully enable encryption. Plus, since they're saying the...

I will be leaving the iPhone for the Galaxy Note 2

Sounds like the issue is that you need to get fat again. Problem solved! :P

Google Play Books OR Kindle Amazon Books?

If I was more certain B&N wouldn't be going out of business (the Nook product line alone can't keep them afloat, and brick and mortar bookstores are unfortunately going the way of the dinosaurs), I would be more willing to buy books from them. The Nook Android interface is nice to read on, the...

Hspa Gnex version to be sold with Jelly Bean soon

Root and flash a custom ROM. You'll get significantly bettery battery life and better performance, and 4.1 probably within 48 hours of it being released.

Why do some Apps Demand so many Permissions?!!!

moosc, apps show up in the market all the time which basically create backdoors into your phone for hackers to use. They're generally removed fairly quickly, but they do show up. And Google's bounce system is basically us... Anyone can post a new app in the Play Store, and it's only once people...

What's really keeping you tied to Android? Would you change?

If I would ever switch, it would be to an iOS device, for one and only one reason. Apps designed only for iOS. Which hey, it's great for them, but it leaves us feeling like the red-headed stepchild. (No offense to any ginger step-children out there.) Eventually, as long as Android keeps growing...
