My G4 just started having this issue. Tried everything in this thread with no luck. Toggling the Sync Gmail off then on in the settings within the gmail app causes it to sync once, but after that nothing. This is such a frustrating issue.

It's a nice looking device for a great price. Had this come out back in Oct/Nov I would have grabbed this instead of my G4.

I'd like to add that the G4 seems to have the autobrightness issue too. Way too dim.

The sheild is 7" if I'm not mistaken, and that is simply too small for me.

I've noticed this as well, and it seems to be related to google music syncing. If you go into your google account in settings and uncheck music it seems to help quite a bit.
