I don't think Skip is really for people with patterns. Patterns are designed to be an easy, but less secure way to lock your phone. Skip seems better for people that use a pin or password. There is no reason to do this. Android is very smart when it comes to multitasking. Closing apps will have no impact on data usage or battery life unless the app is out of control. I never close apps and have zero issues.

A. Go into the settings where you set it up and remove it. B. If you forget how to unlock it, a few failed attempts will ask for your google account login info. Enter it and then follow through with option A. C. If A and B do not work. That's not your phone.

Do you have the unlocked GSM version on ATT or an ATT Moto X? The unlocked is the same as T-mobile regardless if it's on T-Mobile or ATT. If your phone has an ATT logo on the back and is running 4.4.2, then I am very excited.
